Destrozada | Spring 2015
First Year Studio-Second Semester, Final Project
Finalist, 2015 ITAA Undergraduate Design Competition
This design was inspired by artist Frida Kahlo. After researching the beloved Mexican artist, I was struck by the many ways her life was shattered (or, "destrozada" in Spanish). I created the shattered design featured in the bodice and created it using a combination of machine embroidery and applique.
